Ridley Park Swim Club Code of Conduct - Rules and Regulations
(Rules may be updated as necessary)
Ridley Park Swim Club requires all members and guests to adhere to the club's Rules and Regulations. The Board of Directors adopted the Rules and Regulations to assure the safe and sanitary operation and use of the pool facilities for enjoyable recreation for all members and guests.
All members and guests are required to observe these Rules and Regulations. Parents are requested to read and explain the rules to their child(ren). Failure to adhere to the Rules and Regulations or follow the direction of the Managers, Lifeguards, or Staff on duty will result in being asked to leave the pool property immediately and may result in the restriction or suspension of Swim Club privileges.
A. Management
1. The Pool Manager is in charge of the daily operation of the pool. It is the duty of the Pool Manager and his/her staff to operate the maintenance and policies of the pool and its Facilities. The Pool Manager operates and the direction of the Board of Directors.
2. The Pool Manager, Assistant Manager or lifeguards shall have the power to take immediate action to suppress disorderly or objectional conduct in the pool area, and may eject the person or persons responsible for such conduct.
3. Failure to comply with the rules shall be considered sufficient grounds for the Pool Manager to suspend the offending member for a period of one (1) to seven (7) days. The Board of Directors has the right to extend the suspension.
4. The Pool Manager and/or staff may, at their discretion, declare when the pool is closed for heath, safety, or weather conditions.
B. Pool Hours & Club Entry
1. Opening day for the Swim Club is the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. We are only open on weekends until Ridley School District has let out for summer.
2. Please find the detailed hours of Operation on the "Contact Us / Hours of Operation / Directions" tab of this site.
3. Ridley Park Swim Club utilizes an online platform, MemberSplash, for the member databse.
4. No Member shall be admitted without having a selfie uploaded onto the MemberSplash platform.
5. Memberships are non-transferable. Any member who attempts to transfer their membership will lose Swim Club privileges.
C. Safety
1. No one is permitted in the pool unless a lifeguard is on duty.
2. Children swimming in the pool are solely the responsibility of their parents and are not under the supervision of the lifeguards.
3. Children that are not potty-trained that are swimming in the pool must wear rubber pants over swim diapers. No Exceptions.
4. Children under 48" without a SWIM/WATER TEST, must be accompanied by an adult in the water, and at arms length at all times.
5. Children over 48" without a SWIM/WATER TEST, may swim unaccompanied by an adult in the 3' ONLY.
6. Any child using a floating device, including but not limited to, swimmies, life vest, puddle jumper, must be accompanied by an adult in the water, within arm's reach and in an area where the adult can stand without going under water at ALL times.
7. To pass the SWIM/WATER TEST: Children 17 & under must swim from the wall of the 5' to the rope at the 12' and back again, tread water for 60 seconds without touching the wall and float on their back for 10 seconds without touching the wall.
8. Use of flotation devise or pool floats will be permitted in the main pool at the discretion of the Pool Manager. Glitter, Sequins or any other filling inside of a float are not permitted on pool grounds. The Manager, Lifeguards, or Staff may at any time pull all floats from the water if crowded or if it is appropriate for the overall safety our of members and guests.
9. No one under the age of 11 will be allowed on the pool grounds unless accompanied by an adult. Any child under the age of 18 must pass a swim test to enjoy the dives/water deeper than their shoulders.
10. Only one person is permitted on the diving board at a time. The area must be clear before diving. Only ONE bounce is permitted. All divers must enter the diving area of the pool via the diving board and exit for the pool ladders.
11. NO GLASS of any kind, including ceramic mugs/dishes, etc., allowed on ANY of the pool grounds (includes parking lots, grass areas, shade deck and snack bar eating area). This applies to food jars/dishes as well as bottles. The RPSC staff reserves the right to check coolers to ensure that the pool and grounds are kept free of glass. This is for the safety of all pool members. Anyone caught with glass containers will be suspended.
12. No running, pushing, wrestling, dunking, rough horseplay is permitted.
13. The Swim Cub is not responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage to person or property. All injuries must be reported to the Pool Manager or Assistant Manager and an accident report must be completed.
14. Members must drive slowly and carefully at all times in the pool parking area. The Swim Club is not responsible for loss or damage to automobiles on Swim Club property. No vehicle shall be parked in a matter that would obstruct the entrance/exit, roadways or driving paths at any time.
15. No littering on Swim Club property. Make sure all trash is discarded in the respective trash receptacles.
16. No animals/pets allowed on the Swim Club property at any time.
17. The Swim Club will not accept responsibility for belongings left on pool property.
18. Alcohol is prohibited.
19. No weapons of any type are allowed on property.
20. No profanity or abusive language will be tolerated by anyone and is grounds for immediate dismissal from club property.
21. No talking to the lifeguard on duty – if you need to speak with a staff member, please see the Pool Manager.
22. No hard basketballs, footballs or any other hard balls are permitted in the pool. Only soft nerf-like balls are permitted in the pools.
23. Dribbling or throwing a ball on the pool deck is prohibited.
24. Hanging on the basketball net is prohibited.
25. The Manager, Lifeguards or Staff may pull any toy or ball from the water at any time if the pool is crowded or if it is appropriate for the overall safety of our members and guests.
26. No diving in 3- and 4-foot areas - observe signs painted on concrete deck.
27. Once thunder is heard, or lightning seen, everyone must vacate the water as quickly/safely as possible - and follow staff directives for taking shelter if needed.
28. Tents - Members are welcome to bring their own tent to use at the club. Tents are not to be on the pool deck. All tent legs must be on the grass and staked into the ground. Tents may be taken down at times of windy weather or if they pose a safety concern; this decision is at the discretion of the Manager on Duty.
D. Health and Sanitation
1. Proper swimwear is required – no jeans or cutoffs - remember this is a family establishment – swimsuits should be of modest coverage
2. All persons must take a shower before entering the water. This is required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
3. No member shall knowingly enter the pool enclosure, or permit a child or guest to do so, while suffering from any infectious, contagious or communicable disease.
4. All children in diapers must wear swim diapers. Cloth or disposable diapers are NOT permitted. Rubber pants must be worn over any diaper or swim diaper.
5. No food or beverage may be consumed in the pool or on the surrounding pool deck.
6. All trash must be discarded in the respective trash receptacles provided.
7. No gum or chewing tobacco in or around the pool deck and baby pool deck area.
8. Smoking of any kind, including but not limited to cigarette, cigar, vape is ONLY permitted in the designated smoking area or off of Pool Grounds.
9. There is a zero policy for Drug Use on Pool Grounds. Drug use of any kind is grounds to permanent membership termination. No Refunds.
E. Guests
1. Members with guests are required to register and pay guest fees upon entering the pool.
2. All guests must be accompanied by a member 12 years or older, at all times when on club grounds - anyone under the age of 12 cannot sponsor a guest – even if they are a relative.
3. All guests under the age of 18 must pass a water test in order to enjoy the dives/water deeper than their shoulders.
4. All guests must adhere to all club rules & regulations. Any violation will result in appropriate penalties directly affecting the RPSC membership family.
5. The Pool Manager may limit, at his/her discretion, the total number of pool guests when crowded conditions require such limitation.
6. More than 5 guests on one Membership family is considered a party. Please notify the Board of Directors if you would like to bring in more than 5 guests so that arrangements can be made for potential staffing, etc.
F. Guests Fees
1. Monday through Friday - $10/day per guest
2. Saturday and Sunday - $15/day per guest
3. Holidays - $15/day per guest
4. All Guest Fees are Non-Refundable
**Please note, there is a cap of 10 guests per membership family on Holidays. Any special exemption requests will need to be reviewed and approved by the BOD**
G. Miscellaneous
1. Bicycles shall be parked in the bicycle stand in the respective area.
2. Use of roller skates/blades or skateboards is prohibited with the pool area.
3. Members will be held responsible for property damage caused by their family or guests.
4. BULLYING OR FIGHTING of any kind will NOT be tolerated and are ground for termination from membership without refund.
5. Use of the grilling area is permitted at any time. Please be mindful of the amount of time spent using the grill(s), especially on Holidays and Holiday Weekends. This area and equipment is shared by all and we would like to keep grills available, therefore, members are responsible for cleaning grills after each use. You should provide your own utensils. Please notify a Board Member if the propane is running low.
6. Any questions as to the meaning or interpretation of the rules for the use of the Swim Club shall be determined by the Pool Manager and approved by the Board of Directors and will be posted on the appropriate bulletin board.
7. Any changes or additions to the Rules and Regulations for the use of the Swim Club may be made at any time by the Board of Directors and members shall be expected to abide by such changes or additions.
